A microphone (12) is connected to a telephone for receiving a voice signal from a user (20) and then transmitting the voice signal to the telephone. A transmitter (16) is connected to the telephone for receiving a voice signal from it and then converting the voice signal into a wireless signal to be broadcast. A receiver earphone (32) picks up the wireless signal from the transmitter and then converts it into a voice signal for hearing by the user.
