PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the length measurement device of a long-length material capable of accurately measuring the carrying amount of the long-length material, detecting the measurement error of a length measurement disk and preventing the perforating position defect of the long-length material or the like. SOLUTION: This device is provided with first and second rear side length measurement disks 11 and 12 rotated together by bringing an outer peripheral surface into press contact with the long-length material X carried in a longitudinal direction, rotary encoders 11a and 12a respectively connected to the respective length measurement disks, a comparison means 14 for comparing the measured pulse numbers of the respective rotary encoders and a judgment means 15 for judging that the measurement of the carrying amount of the long-length material is normal when the difference of the measured pulse numbers of the respective rotary encoders compared by the comparison means is within an allowable value and judging that the measurement of the carrying amount of the long-length material is abnormal when the difference of the respective measured pulse numbers is out of the allowable value.
