PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recognition device capable of accelerating image recognition with an inexpensive circuit. SOLUTION: A pattern matching part 7 detects the recognition area of input image data by pattern-matching the input image data and a specified image pattern. A CPU 10 is provided with an internal memory 11 accessible from the outside and image-recognizes the input image data of the recognition area detected by pattern matching among the input image data stored in the internal memory 11 by a program. A DMA controller 9 DMA transfers the input image data to the internal memory 11.
