PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a browser to easily browse only a selected part by extracting a desired browsed part of a document having the same name by using document information on a desired part to be browsed corresponding to the storage document name and controlling it into the display state before redisplay. SOLUTION: When the desired part 203 to be browsed is specified through an input device 103 while a desired document 202 is displayed on the document display screen 201 of a display device 101, its range is replaced with a column position and a line position in a specific range peripheral part 204 obtained, for example, by widening the desired part 203 by a specific range and those values are stored in a storage device 106 as identification information indicating the range of the desired part 203 to be browsed. After the document 202 having the desired part specified is updated in a document database 104 by an administrator, etc., a request to browse the updated document is inputted from the input device 103 and when display operation to the display device 101 is done, the desired part 203 of the document 202 before the update is immediately displayed on the document display screen 201 without being scrolled.
