PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically start a job associatively with a job on another machine without notification by the other machine by allowing one machine to monitor a common-use type file device. SOLUTION: Machines 10 and 20 as information processors share a common file device 30. The machine 10 generates a file 31 on the common file device 30 by a job 11 and outputs data to the file 31. The disk monitor means 21 of the machine 20 monitors the common file device 30, and then starts a corresponding job 25 through a job starting means 24 by referring to a mapping table 22 once detecting that the file 31 has been generated on the common file 30 or data have been written. The started job 25 carries out a process by using the file 31 on the common file device 30. Consequently, the need to notify the machine 20 of the generation of the data by the machine 10 is eliminated.
