PRINTING CONTROLLER, METHOD FOR EXPANDING PRINTING DATA AND STORAGE MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printing controller capable of suppressing cost up due to an exclusive memory to be used for the expansion of an expanding means. SOLUTION: A RAM 16 is provided with a working area for a CPU 103 and an area to be a line buffer to be used for expanding data by a data expansion part 108. Printing data written in the RAM 106 are transferred to the expansion part 108 through an arbiter 107. The expansion part 108 expansion the transferred printing data by a corresponding expansion system. In the case of expanding the transferred printing data, the expansion part 108 expands the printing data by referring to data written in the line buffer of the RAM 106 and overwrites the expanded data on the line buffer so as to use it for the expansion of data of a succeeding line and after.
