PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling the drive of an electronic component mounting machine and an electronic component mounting which realizes reduction or abnormal sound or vibration and improvement of the positioning accuracy. SOLUTION: An electronic component mounting machine moves a printed board for mounting electronic components to a component mounting position for controlling its positioning, controls the positioning of associated parts cassette 7 from among a plurality of parts cassettes 7 at a component pickup position of a head 3, controls the positioning of an electronic component that the head 3 picked up from the pick up position at a component mounting position on a printed board, thus mounting it. In driving a servo motor 6 as a drive for at least one of the positioning controls, a controller 21 is provided for controlling the drive, such that the control gain is switched for operation according to the load on the motor 6. |
