PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the axial position of fuel spacers in a fuel assembly and facilitate detaching of fuel channel and fuel spacer. SOLUTION: A small fuel assembly is constituted of inner partition members 1 arranged inside a fuel assembly for separating the fuel channel inner space into a plurality, and fuel spacers for maintaining constant the intervals of a plurality of fuel rods placed vertically in the separated regions of fuel channel inside and supported by an upper tieplate and a lower tieplate. The inner partition member 1 is provided with projections 2 arranged in at least the lower position in the axial direction arranged by fuel spacers on the surface in each region. This projections 2 can be provided in the upper position in the axial direction. Also the projections 2 can be tapered at the upper part or spacer support members can be substituted by spacer support members.
