PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive a wireless signal at an antenna provided on a charging stand while charging a portable wireless receiver and to secure a reception performance equal with the use of an external antenna by receiving a wireless signal, which is received by the charging stand of the portable wireless receiver, and receiving the supply of a charging current and an operating current from the charging stand. SOLUTION: A portable wireless receiver 1 is provided with a signal transmitting part 1A for receiving the wireless signal received by a charging stand 2 and a current transmitting part 1B for receiving the supply of the charging current and the operating current from the charging stand 2. The receiver 1 is provided with a battery charger 11 composed of a lithium ion battery or nickel hydrogen battery, a rectifier circuit 12 for converting a current from AC to DC and a reception circuit 13 at least. Thus, the wireless receiver 1 can receive the wireless signal so as to support the lack in the sensitivity of the antenna 1A on the charging stand 2 while being charged by the charging stand 2. The external antenna composed of a single whip type or stretching rod is used for an antenna 21 of the charging stand 2.
