PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for monitoring rises in temperatures of batteries capable of specifying the battery and separating from a charge and discharge system as necessary, when either of plural batteries constituting a battery pack has a great temperature rise. SOLUTION: In this monitoring device for rises in temperature of a battery, critical temperature thermistors 21-25 are affixed to batteries 11-15, are inserted into a plurality of parallel lines 51-55 connected between two series lines 41, 42, and are connected in parallel with one another. Resistors 31-35 are inserted in the series line sections of the one series line 42 extending between the adjacent parallel lines. The two series lines 41, 42 are connected to a resistance detecting circuit 7 and a resistance value between the series lines 41, 42 is detected to specify the battery whose temperature has risen greatly.
