PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stable and homogeneous coating film without changes in the state of the coating liquid with time and to obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a structural layer having extremely high resistance against scratches or wear after the coating film is formed, by incorporating a specified crosslinking compd. into an org. silicon compd. SOLUTION: A resin layer is formed by crosslinking an org. silicon compd. having hydroxy groups or hydrolyzable groups on an electrophotographic photoreceptor. In this method, a crosslinking compd. expressed by the formula of (R1O)4-m-nSi(R2)m(R3)n is incorporated into the org. silicon compd. In the formula, R1 is a 1-6C alkyl group, R2 is a hydroxy group or each substd. or unsubstd. alkyl group, alkoxy group, aryl group or aryloxy group, R3 is a >=3C org. residue containing at least one of amino group, alkoxy group, aryloxy group and hydroxy group, m is an integer 0 to 2, n is an integer 1 to 3, and m+n is an integer 1 to 3.
