PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and reliably mount an hour character on a dial for clocks and at the same time prevent the outer shape quality from being sacrificed at the mounting site. SOLUTION: A mounting circular hole 14 is formed at a dial 11 for clocks, a leg part 15 provided at the reverse side of an hour character 12 is inserted into the circular hole 14, and the tip of the leg part 15 being fixed into the circular hole 14 is hit by a round punch 19 with a sharp tip, thus spreading the tip part and inflating it to the outside and pressing and fixing an inflation part 16 to the inner-wall surface of the circular hole 14.
