PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a sensor and also return time from a standby state, in which the power consumption is suppressed to an operating state and to improve operational responsiveness, immediately after the return in the sensor control of electronic equipment which has a plurality of sensors and can obtain a plurality of kinds of operations or standby states. SOLUTION: A CPU 7 of a control part 1 changes the settings of supply current values to respective sensors 11 to 13, 15 to 17 and 181 to 18N via power supply disconnection and current setting circuits 13 and 22 according to respective transitions from one state to another state of the operation state of facsimile equipment, a normal 1st standby state and a 2nd standby state, that suppresses power consumption more than the 1st standby state. The CPU 7 also makes data latching circuits 201 to 20N latch or release the output signals of sheet existence/absence sensors 181 to 18N.
