PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the merchandise protective device of an automatic vending machine capable of preventing the discoloring of a merchandise package and the quality deterioration of merchandise by providing a screen characteristic of visibility having the effect of easing sunlight. SOLUTION: In the automatic vending machine of a see-through type, this merchandise protective device is provided with the transparent boarding part 3 of a door front surface, the plural pieces of merchandise housing shelves 4 where the merchandise is aligned and mounted inside a merchandise housing container 2, a merchandise protective screen 5 characteristic of the visibility having the effect of easing the sunlight between the merchandise housing shelves 4 and the transparent boarding part 3 of the door front surface, an operation device 6 for opening and closing the merchandise protective screen 5 and a switch 7 for executing the operation device.
