PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a damage to an optical pickup by surely controlling the position of an optical pickup. SOLUTION: The device is provided with an optical pickup 160, which records and reproduces information for a magneto-optical disk, a loading mechanism section, which moves the disk to a loading and unloading position where the disk is loaded into and unloaded out of the device and a mounting position where a recording and/or a reproducing of information takes place for the disk, and a position control mechanism (a lock slide 180 and a twisted coil spring 181) which is linked and operated with the loading mechanism section and controls the position of the pickup 160 along the radial direction of the disk. |
