PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate having an optical waveguide in which optical fibers can be mounted with accuracy and better yields without adjustments. SOLUTION: This substrate with an optical waveguide includes a core 131 of the optical waveguide, a surface flattening layer 132 formed of the same layer as the core 131, the other layer 122 fitted over the surface flattening layer 132 for constituting the optical waveguide, and a position adjusting mechanism 15 which is a structure formed on the surface of the other layer 122 and fitting into the other member for specifying a position relative to the other member. Therefore, the surface of a clad layer 12 on top of the surface flattening layer 132 is flat and higher than the surroundings, so that distortion of a pattern 14 for forming the position adjusting mechanism can be reduced. |
