PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a refrigerating air conditioner having high safety and reliability in the case of using a combustible refrigerant having very small adverse influence of a refrigerant of a refrigerating cycle to a global environment by reducing an electric input and improving an energy efficiency and a method for controlling it. SOLUTION: The refrigerating air conditioner comprises a primary side cycle for connecting a compressor 1, a heat source side heat exchanger 3, a throttle unit 4 and an intermediate heat. exchanger 10 to circulate a refrigerant, and a secondary side cycle for connecting a pump 11, a user side heat exchanger 12, and an intermediate heat exchanger 10 to circulate an incombustible refrigerant in such a manner that the exchanger 10 heat exchanges the refrigerant with the incombustible refrigerant, and a flow rate variable mechanism 15 is provided at the pump 11 for circulating the incombustible refrigerant of the secondary side cycle so that a flow rate of the refrigerant is variable. |
