PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a network system for a digital camera where a peripheral unit connected to a server unit can control the digital camera connected to a terminal on a network. SOLUTION: An MFC 1 is connected to a server PC 50 via a cable 34 in a network system 100. The server PC 50 is connected to a plurality of clients PC 80 via a LAN 70. A digital camera 75 is connected to one or more of the client PCs 80 via a cable 74. An operator of the MFC 1 enters a control command of the digital camera 75, the MFC 1 transmits this command to the server PC 50 and further to the client PC 80, and the client PC 80 controls the digital camera 75 in response to the command. That is, the MFC 1 remotely controls the digital camera 75 connected to the client LPC 80 on a LAN 70.
