PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small thermal protector by providing a thermally- actuated plate having a long hole shape and a bend section on a width thick section adjacent to the long hole. SOLUTION: This thermal protector is provided with a fixed contact point plate 6 having a fixed contact point 4 at the end section and a thermally- actuated plate 3 having a moving contact point 2 at the end section, deformed by a temperature rise when it is heated, and stuck to or separated from the fixed contact point 4 fixed to the fixed contact point plate 6 by welding. A long hole section 8 at the center section and a V-shaped bend section 11 provided at a width thick section are formed on the thermally-actuated plate 3. The fixed contact point 4 is arranged on the fixed contact point plate 6 in response to the moving contact point 2 fixed to the thermally-actuated plate 3 by welding, and the end section of the thermally-actuated plate 3 is fixed to a lead terminal 7 by welding. The V-shaped bend section 11 is provided on one side of a pair of width thick sections, the length in the longitudinal direction is shortened, a difference in length in the longitudinal direction occurs between a pair of width thick sections, therefore the width thick section having no V-shaped bend section 11 is naturally curved in the longitudinal direction.
