The automobile has two rows of seats arranged on the floor behind the dashboard (24) between two vehicle side panels (16). T first row comprises a driver's seat (30) and a front passenger seat (32) separated by a central console (34). A second row of se comprises two rear passenger seats (36,38) separated by a central empty space. Each seat comprises a seat part and a back which can be folded down on the seat part. The second row seats are pivoting mou so as to be folded against the side panels. The front passenger seat can be moved longitudinally on guide rails (80,82) so as to pushed under the dashboard into a cavity (68). The central console can also be moved longitudinally on a guide rail (72) and be pushed under the dashboard into the same cavity.
