PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the device for evaluating a binocular stereoscopic vision picture that can evaluate picture quality of a binocular stereoscopic vision picture exhibiting a picture independently of both eyes so as to provide a stereoscopic sense and to obtain a binocular stereoscopic picture evaluation method and a recording medium. SOLUTION: This device 1 for evaluating a binocular stereoscopic vision picture uses a picture input section 2 to receive left and right eye pictures, gives the received pictures a both eye provisional area extract section 3, which extracts a prescribed number of area pair groups observed as one object in the case of viewing them by both eyes, and a physical characteristic variable conversion section 4 converts the groups into other physical characteristic variable (e.g. picture density distribution or the like) into other proper physical characteristic variable (e.g. reflectance distribution or the like) as required independently of left and right eyes. An inter-picture arithmetic section 5 converts the converted physical characteristic variable distribution into one picture physical characteristic variable distribution and an arithmetic operation taking the human visual characteristic into account is applied to the one picture physical characteristic variable distribution to calculate a binocular stereoscopic vision picture evaluation value. |
