PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a driving circuit for any block from being overloaded at the time of displaying any image by providing this display device with a control means for outputting a signal for controlling emitted light brightness of a whole panel, a display panel driving means for driving the display panel based on the emitted brightness control signal, etc. SOLUTION: A control circuit 3 receives as input signals an image signal from an image signal control circuit 1 and a maximum block display rate data from a maximum value detecting circuit 9, and generates a driver control signal based on such input signal and outputs the control signal to a driving circuit 4. And, the control circuit 3 controls the emitted light brightness of the whole display panel 5 based on the maximum block display rate. Therefore, even when convergent image display is executed on at least one of the 1st to J-th display blocks BL1-BLJ, any of the driving circuits 4b1-4bJ for the 1st to J-th blocks is not overloaded, therefore, it is possible to secured a stable operation of the driving circuits 4b1-4bJ for each block. |
