PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical carbon dioxide sensor requiring no provision reference gas or a solid standard material. SOLUTION: This electrochemical carbon dioxide sensor applies a current between a first electrode 13 and a second electrode 14 with a carbon dioxide pump section 1 to pump carbon dioxide. The electromotive force generated by the gas partial pressure difference between the pumped carbon dioxide and the carbon dioxide contained in measured gas is measured by a third electrode 23 and a fourth electrode 24 of a measurement section 2, thereby the carbon dioxide concentration contained in the measured gas is measured. The electrochemical carbon dioxide sensor generates a reference material by itself, thus no reference material is required to be prepared in advance, and the structure of the sensor itself can be made simple and compact. |
