PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a device as a whole by providing a holder member, a pair of mutually parallel slide members by which the holder member is moved to the insertion/ejection position of a recording medium cartridge or an arrangement position for recording and/or reproducing, a cam for respectively driving a pair of slide members and a driving means for rotating and driving the cam. SOLUTION: A loading mechanism part 1 is provided with a main holder and a sub-holder 11 and 12 for holding a disk cartridge 2, a pair of left and right sliders 13 and 14 for elevating/lowering the holders and the driving device 25 for driving the sliders 13 and 14. The driving device 25 drives a cam gear 85 with first to second driving gears 81-84 by a driving motor 80 and moves the sliders 13 and 14 only by the single cam gear 85. Thus, the configuration of the loading mechanism 1 is simplified.
