The stripping method commences with formation of a groove in the insulation (11), perpendicular to the conductor (10). A pair of cutters are then slid along the wire from the groove to the wire end. A second pair of cutters (2) are then displaced perpendicular to the wire, along the longer diameter of the oval section of the wire.
