PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-permeability Mn-Zn ferrite source iron oxide, which can be manufactured not with a costly step but with a simple manufacturing step, contain less amount of component adverse to high-permeability characteristics and have very satisfactory high-permeability characteristics, and also to provide a high-permeability Mn-Zn ferrite using such iron oxide. SOLUTION: High-permeability Mn-Zn ferrite source iron oxide containing 0.01 or less weight % of SiO2, 0.02 weight % or less of P and 0.003 weight % or less of insoluble Ca is obtained by atomizingly or fluidically roasting an aqueous solution of ferric chloride. Mn-Zn ferrite, manufactured with the use of the iron oxide, has an AC initial permeability of 10,000 or higher at 10 kHz and at 25 deg.C. |
