PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency in the storage of spent fuel in a condition where the calorific value of it is low. SOLUTION: A canisters 2 that houses a basket 3 accommodating spent fuels 4 is stored in a concrete cask 1, which is constituted in such a way that the spent fuels 4 are stored while being cooled from the outer circumferential side of the canister 2 by introducing air 11 into the concrete cask 1 from below it. In this case, the concrete cask 1 is set up so as to have a double structure equipped with the internal cylinder 1a-1 of the main body of the cask 1 and the external cylinder 1a-2 of it.
