<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rare-earth calcium oxoborate single crystal which can be made into a nonlinear optical single crystal used for a wavelength conversion device of a laser beam of a large-sized crystal, having a second harmonic generation constant or third harmonic generation constant. SOLUTION: This rare-earth calcium oxoborate single crystal is a rare earth (M) calcium oxoborate single crystal (where, the atomic ratio thereof is in the range of Ca:M:B=3.6 to 4.4:1:2.7 to 3.3), in which in the single crystal the disturbance of interference fringes substantially does not exist and the boundary right after the growth of the single crystal is substantially smooth. This process is for the production of the rare-earth calcium oxoborate single crystal by melting rare-earth calcium oxoborate and growing a single crystal by a pulling method. The process for producing the rare-earth calcium oxoborate single crystal of this time consists in substantially smoothly growing the crystal growth boundary by regulating the number of revolutions of the crystal at growing.</p> |
