PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery rarely causing a liquid leakage and having high reliability during the use and preservation of the battery. SOLUTION: This thin sealed battery is provided with a sealing plate on the opening section side of a metal case 4 having a cross sectional shape nearly made of straight line sections and curve sections. The opening section of the metal case 4 is sealed by caulking with the sealing plate 6 via a gasket 5, and the angle (x) between a gasket contact section on the bottom face of the sealing plate 6 and the bottom section of the metal case 4 is set to 0-45 deg..
