PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens barrel in which a difference in focal distance between a focusing area in a wide angle end zoom area and another focusing area in the zoom area next to the wide angle end zoom area is reduced and variation in the focal distance within each focusing area is reduced. SOLUTION: This zoom lens barrel has a built-in zoom lens comprising a plurality of groups of lenses and performs stepwise zooming into a plurality of zoom areas by rotating a cam cylinder provided with a lens group moving means for moving the groups of lenses in the direction of an optical axis, and also performs focusing in each zoom area. The inclination angleθof a cam groove in a focusing area in the zoom area next to a wide angle end zoom area is greater than the inclination angle of a cam groove in a focusing area in another zoom area.
