PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface defect inspection device capable of automatically extracting only surface defects such as fine ruggedness and projections by pressing with high detection accuracy and without erroneously detecting foreign matters or the like such as dirt, stains and dust as the detects on the surface to be inspected of a body to be inspected. SOLUTION: Defect candidate information extracted by the defect candidate extraction means 10 of an image processing means is compared with the defect candidate information of the other time sequence different timewise in a defect candidate identification means 12 and a defect candidate detected also in a non-inspection area among the defect candidate information detected in an inspection area is judged as erroneous information by the dirt or the dust and excluded from the defect candidates. Further, defect information obtained by the defect candidate identification means 12 is collated with the defect information obtained for another car body panel P in a defect reliability judgment means 13, and while the defect candidate for which a position or an area matches with the defect information of the other car body panel P is judged as the surface defect, the non-matching defect candidate is excluded from the defect candidates as the erroneous information by the sticking irregularities of oil. |
