PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe, small-sized, and lightweight dry metallized film capacitor which uses metallized film but which uses no metallic container or insulating oil. SOLUTION: This film capacitor comprises a plurality of capacitor elements 1, each being obtained by overlapping a pair of metallized films 2 one upon another, winding the resulting body and thermal-spraying metal onto end faces of the wound body, a capacitor element body 6 obtained by connecting the wound end faces of the plurality of elements 1 in parallel with one another using external lead terminals 5, a radiating plate 7 interposed between the adjacent elements 1 of the body 6, and an insulating resin 11 covering the wound end faces of the body 6 and side surfaces of the elements 1 in a recessed form.
