MAGNETORESISTIVE MAGNETIC HEAD AND MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic head which decreases the noises at the time of reproduction with a tunneling type magnetoresistive element which is a reproducing magnetic head having a high reproducing sensitivity and has S/N of >=10. SOLUTION: The magnetoresistive magnetic head using multilayered films separated by first and second magnetic layers 23 and 25 with insulating layers 22 and 24 is designed in V and R in such a manner that the value of VP/R attains >=2.08/105Ω.V when the impressed voltage between electrodes is defined as V (V) and the magnetic reluctance change rate of the multiplayered films as R (Ω). The potential difference between the first magnetic layer 23 and the second magnetic layer 25 is preferably <=0.1 (V).
