摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a ratio of filling active materials in positive and negative electrodes, to attain high energy density and to provide a lithium battery having high reliability. SOLUTION: This lithium battery comprises an electrolyte 5 interposed between positive and negative electrodes 3 and 6 and is characterized in that the positive electrode 3 and/or negative electrode 6 are formed by binding a transition metal oxide particle with an oxide glass. Thus, active materials constructing the positive and negative electrodes 3 and 6 is formed by a transition metal oxide and the transition metal oxide particle is bonded with the oxide glass. Thereby, a ratio of filling an active material is enhanced to increase a service capacity. Consequently, a high energy density can be obtained. By using the transition metal oxide for the positive and negative active materials, precipitation reaction of the metallic lithium is suppressed and reliability can be enhanced.
