PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that enables visual patterns such as characters and graphics to be displayed at arbitrary positions in the main information recording area in the substrate of an optical recording medium, particularly in its information recording area, and which causes no loss at all in the recording capacity of the information to be originally recorded in the area even if a means for displaying the visual patterns is provided in the information recording area. SOLUTION: The pitches P2, P3 of the section corresponding to desired character and graphic patterns in the pitches of a track 103 are varied differently from the constant track pitch P1 of other sections. Then, using the interference phenomenon of the different reflected light 200 generated by the track pitch of such differentiated section, the desired character and graphic patters 104 are visually displayed. |
