PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make photoelectric transfer performance practical and to improve durability by setting the thickness of a semiconductor fine particle containing layer and the viscosity of a solvent used in a charge transporting layer in a specific range. SOLUTION: The thickness of a semiconductor fine particle containing layer of this photoelectric transfer element is set to 0.1-8 μm. A charge transporting layer is a layer having a function to supplement an oxidation body of a pigment with electrons, for instance, an electrolyte prepared by dissolving an oxidation- reduction couple in an organic solvent. The viscosity of the solvent for the electrolyte is set to 1.5-15 cp. When the pigment adsorbed by the semiconductor fine particle containing layer is used alone, its molar absorption coefficient is preferably 30,000 or more. The wavelength region of photoelectric transfer of the pigment is set as wide as possible, and two or more kinds of pigments are preferably mixed and used in order to enhance the photoelectric transfer efficiency. In this case, at least one kind of them preferably has a molar absorption coefficient of 30,000 or more. |
