The display unit for nuts (2) comprises a rod (3) with a projecting part (4) forming a shoulder and a retractable retaining tab (6). The shoulder has a hanging passage (15). Nuts are threaded onto the rod one after the other on the end opposite the shoulder and held between the shoulder and the tab. The rod has transverse holes (14) and a peg (13) which is able to be force fitted through a hole thereby imprisoning the remaining nuts between the shoulder and the peg.
