PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and accurately detect the liquid level of fused plastic. SOLUTION: In this liquid level detector, a float 3 is arranged in fused plastic 2 stored in a container 1. The float 3 is enclosed with a protecting tube 15. The upper part of the float 3 is connected to a torque tube 14, and the torque tube 14 is torsionally deformed corresponding to a change in the level of the plastic 2. The torsional deformation quantity of the torque tube 14 is displayed on a display device 5.
