PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor having excellent durability by incorporating a specified polycarbonate copolymer as a binder resin into a photosensitive layer. SOLUTION: A photosensitive layer is formed on an electrifying supporting body of an electrophotographic photoreceptor. In this method, a polycarbonate copolymer containing recurring structural units expressed by formula I and formula II is incorporated as a binder resin into the photosensitive layer. In the formulae, each of R1 and R3 is independently an alkyl group, alkoxy group, nitro group or halogen atom, R2 is a hydrogen atom or methyl group, each of k and l is independently an integer 0 to 3, each of m and n is independently an integer 0 to 20, but m+n is not 0. The substituents R1 and R3 are preferably 1-10C unsubstd. straight-chain or branched alkyl groups, 1-10C unsubstd. straight- chain or branched alkoxy groups or chlorine atoms, each of k and l is preferably 0, 1 or 2, and each of m and n is preferably an integer 0 to 10.
