PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photographic element which ensures suppressed crystal formation while retaining satisfactory reactivity and the absorption of unnecessary green light by allowing a 2nd high boiling point solvent to exist in an enough amount to suppress crystal formation in a dispersion of a coupler as compared with a dispersion of the coupler in a dispersion in which the 2nd solvent has been substituted by a 1st high boiling point solvent equal to the 2nd solvent in amount. SOLUTION: The photographic element includes a silver halide emulsion layer having a phenolic cyan dye forming NB coupler, a 1st high boiling point solvent having the formula G-C-00-R1 and one or more 2nd high boiling point solvents selected from phosphates, phosphonates, etc. The 2nd solvents are allowed to exist in an enough amount to suppress crystal formation in a dispersion of the coupler as compared with a dispersion of the coupler in a dispersion in which the 2nd solvents have been substituted by the 1st solvent equal to the 2nd solvents in amount. In the formula, R1 is alkyl or aryl and G is alkyl including cycloalkyl and aralkyl and containing a bonding group.
