PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a image, quality by surely shielding the incidence of unwanted external light, without the expansion/cost-up of a device and the change of mirror arrangement or the like by providing a light shielding member for shielding light at all times during the movement of a read sensor concerning an external light part made incident to the read sensor at image reading mode. SOLUTION: The light of a light source is guided to a transmission type projecting screen 9, the expanded projected image of image information in a microfilm is formed on the inner surface, and the image can be read from the outside. Then, a light shielding member 14 is provided for shielding the external light part made incident to a read sensor 13 at the time of the image reading mode. The sub-scanning movement of this light shielding member 14 is performed, while being interlocked to the movement of an image reading unit 24 in the relation to always shielding external light parts (b) and (c) which are made incident to the image reading unit 24 including the read sensor 13 in external light incident from the outer surface side of the projection screen 9 to the inner surface side during the movement of the image reading unit 24. Thus, the incidence of unwanted external light parts (b) and (c) is surely shielded.
