PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser system with a constitution for increasing light quantity received on a photodiode, while peeping light quantity of emission from a front edge. SOLUTION: A semiconductor laser system (LOP) 30 is a module, in which a semiconductor laser (LD) 32 and a photodiode(PD) are integrated into one body. The LD 32 is mounted on a mounting face beside a light receiving face 36 on the PD 34. The LD 32 has an optical resonance structure with double- heretojunction, and one edge face 38 is a main light outgoing face and the other edge face 40 is an auxiliary light outgoing face in an edge surface emitting semiconductor laser element. A target is irradiated with a laser beam from the main light outgoing edge face 38, while a feedback control laser beam is irradiated from the auxiliary light outgoing edge face 40. These light outgoing edge faces are cleavaged in a declined state to an optical resonator axis 42, in such a way that each normal 41 of the light outgoing edge faces makes an angel of 4 degrees with the optical resonator axis 42. The PD 34 is a photodiode, having an upper face 44 in parallel with the optical resonance axis 42 for mounting the LD 32 and a light receiving face on the upper face thereof.
