PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a capacitor supporting structure, capable of supporting capacitor elements stably without applying the weight of the capacitor elements to the structure, and improving the heat radiating properties of the capacitor elements. SOLUTION: A power capacitor has an element block 1 and insulating oil contained in a case. The block 1 is formed by laminating flat capacitor elements 2 in a horizontal direction with their side edges, arranged in a transverse direction and integrating the thus arranged elements 2, while being tightened with a pair of tightening plates 5 and tightening studs 6, and each element 2 is prepared by overlapping an electrode foil and a dielectric film alternately one upon another with the side edge part of the electrode foil projecting from that of the dielectric film and winding the resulting overlapped body into a flat form. In this case, a T-shaped core body 3 having parts projecting from both side edges of a corresponding elements 2 thereof is inserted into a central portion of the element 2, and such parts projecting form both side edges of the element 2 are hooked onto a pair of insulating supports 4, both ends of which are fixed to the plates 5, whereby the element 2 is supported by hanging.
