PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the voltage withstanding characteristic between a final acceleration electrode and a final focus electrode. SOLUTION: This electron gun 50 has a cathode 51, a control electrode 52, and a screen electrode 53 for constituting a tripolar part, at least one or more focus electrodes 55 formed sequentially from the screen electrode 53 and constituting an auxiliary lens, a final acceleration electrode 56 enclosing the final focus electrode of the focus electrodes 55 and constituting a main lens with the final focus electrode. In this case, the final focus electrode has a cylindrical base part 55a and a tapered part 55b having an end part with a larger diameter than that of the base part at the end part of the base part.
