PURPOSE: A method for correcting a wrong telephone number when inputting the number, is provided to correct the number with hold-on in a telephone set or device combining a liquid crystal display(LCD). CONSTITUTION: A method for correcting a wrong telephone number when inputting the number, comprises the steps of: if a telephone number of a receiving party is inputted in a hook-off-telephone, storing the inputted telephone number to count a waiting time; comparing whether the counted time exceeds a preset time; if so, creating a speech path by dialing to the stored telephone number; if not, confirming whether a specific key is inputted; performing an operation corresponding to the inputted key to correct the telephone number; and storing the corrected telephone number to repeat the steps after counting the waiting time.
