PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve the focusing capability of an insulation layer without adding auxiliary steps. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes an upper plate, a lower plate, a liquid crystal layer, and an insulation layer. The upper plate includes a plurality of pixel cells each of which passes the light independently. The lower plate includes a plurality of color filter cells each of which corresponds to the pixel cell of the upper plate. The liquid crystal is inserted between the upper and the lower plates. The insulation is implemented so as for a portion patterned on the upper or the lower plate to correspond to each of the cells. The insulation layer according to the present invention further covers each cell including gate line, data line, and switching device formed on the lower plate.
