PURPOSE: A method for preparing a snow removing agent, CaCl2, is provided, using the thermal degradation of plastic, poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) waste. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of heating PVC waste at 250-260°C in the absence of oxygen to degrade it and to collect the produced HCl; and reacting the produced HCl with CaO and Ca(OH)2 to prepare CaCl2. |
