PURPOSE: A method for enhancing a drive production yield by detecting a laser bump is provided to enhance a production yield by detecting a laser bump prior to a test fabrication. CONSTITUTION: A drive uses disks having a zone as a recording media. The zone has a bump by a laser texturing. Data patterns are written to each track of a data zone adjacent to the zone, The data pattern is read, it is checked that the read data pattern is identical with a written data pattern, and it is checked whether a laser bump is formed to a corresponding track or not. If the written data pattern is not identical with the read data pattern, a servo track writing processing is performed to a disk surface. Thereby, a production yield is enhanced by detecting a laser bump prior to a test fabrication.
