The method involves fitting a plastics sleeve to the customer's ear, filling it with alginate to produce a mould of the ear. The mould is filled plaster of Paris to produce a model of the ear, which is used to design the jewellery and create a heatproof model of the ear. A wax model of a jewellery item is formed on the ear, and used to create a heat-proof mould from which the wax is melted out and in which the jewellery item is cast. An Independent claim is included for a precision ear clip manufactured using the method.
