PURPOSE: A device and a method for preventing of missing child or items are provided to easily find lost child's parents by using the manufacturing serial number or bar code of the clothes or shoes the lost child is wearing and searching the personal record open to public of the parents at a lost child protecting center or police station. CONSTITUTION: A device and a method for preventing missing child or items are followed. An input device(100) inputs the identifier of the item, or the identifier of the owner of the item or of the protector of the owner. A storage and controlling device stores and controls the identifiers inputted by the input device(100). A searching device(120) searches the identifier corresponding to the identifier of the protector or owner by inputting the identifier of the item.
